Double dilutes have two copies of the cream gene. They are homozygous for the cream gene meaning that they will always pass the cream gene on to their offspring. Double dilutes always have blue eyes and pink skin. A cremello is a chestnut with two copies of the cream gene. A perlino is a bay with two copies of the cream gene. A smoky cream is a black with two copies of the cream gene. A double dilute's sire and dam must both be cream dilutes in order to be a double dilute. For more information on double dilutes please visit the Cremello and Perlino Educational Association.
